The person you'll actually work with
I'm Chris Gwynne, an independent web designer in North Wales. I design and build websites for local businesses that want to look more professional, say what they do more clearly, and make a stronger first impression — a first site, or a long-overdue rebuild.
Breakfast is deliberately small — it's just me. You talk to the person doing the work, with no account managers and no handoffs, and I judge every site on one thing: whether a real customer can actually use it on their phone.
Chris Gwynne
Designer, writer & developer
I'm Chris. I design, write and build every site personally — one point of contact from the first email to launch, and someone who genuinely minds whether the thing works on a phone in a shop doorway. Plain-spoken, allergic to jargon, and happier fixing a booking button than fussing over a logo.
How I work
You brief me directly — the person who builds the thing. Work happens in the open, with progress shared early and awkward questions asked now rather than guessed at later. And I stay around after launch, watching what real visitors do and fixing what confuses them.
What Breakfast believes
Words before decoration
If a visitor can't tell what you do, the design has failed however nice it looks. It starts with what you sell and who buys it.
One job per page
Every page should help a visitor do one clear thing. Anything that doesn't help that gets cut.
It has to work on a phone
Most people arrive on a phone, often on patchy signal. If it's awkward there, it isn't working — full stop.
Honesty over upselling
If you need less than you think, you'll be told. A smaller job done well beats a bigger one you didn't need.
Who Breakfast is for
A good fit if…
- You run a small or independent business and want a site that works, not just one that photographs well.
- You're happy to answer a few awkward questions about what you actually sell and who buys it.
- You value an honest opinion over being told what you want to hear.
Probably not if…
- You are mainly looking for the lowest possible price rather than a considered, custom website.
- You need a big brand campaign, a mobile app, or a full-time in-house team — that's a different kind of studio.
- You'd rather not be involved at all. A good site needs a little of your time and knowledge to get right.
